This year, I don't have many classes as I did last year with my friends. So I made some new friends, but I still kept in touch with my other friends. My new friends are all in the popular circle and my other friends think I'm turning into a prep. I was hanging out with one of my new friends, and when she left, one of my old friends asked me since when do I hang out with the "mean girls". I feel that my old friends are jealous and they are definetly judging my new friends. What can I do to prove that I still care about my old friends???

I think you should tell them that you're not the same person that you were and that you're trying out new experiences

Balance out the time you spend with both groups of your friends. Invite your other friends to hang out with your new Friends, try and include them. If the "mean" girls don't want your other friends hanging out with you, then that should be a clear indication that these popular girls are not your real Friends. The obviously like you for money or the clothes you are wearing and not for you.

Have a slumber party with all of your friends so that your old ones and your new ones can all meet and hang out. Hopefully if your new friends are good friends and GOOD people, not mean girls, then they will like your old friends just as much as you do!

Don't ditch them. I had this happen too. I was in the "stoner" crowd for awhile and then decided that wasn't really me, so I started dressing nicer and talking to less stonery people. My friends accused me of being a prep too. But I stayed friends with them, I just chose not to dress like a stoner and smoke pot.

It doesn't mean you are changing into preppy girl as long as you be yourself , both with old and new friends, If your old friends can't accept your new friends then you set time aside for your old friends. Just because your friends don't like each other doesn't mean you have to act like them.

It sounds like your trying to please everyone. Who do you really like hanging with. Thats the true question.
