i understand the fast offensive english way and the itlaian midfield masterminds...but am quite naive about La Liga.How is the play there?

compared to England, the pace is slower and there is less of an element of fair play - just watch the number of players in one game who'll try to dive in order to earn cards for their opponents.
the game in La Liga is also quite technical - I think the style of play emphasizes it more than in England, and also players tend to have more time on the ball than in England.
I'd say La Liga is also less physical than England. There is also less aerial play (i.e. long ball)...teams play the ball more on the ground, and the passes tend to go to the players' feet instead of into space. The emphasis is on possession advantage rather than on territorial advantage (in England, it's more likely that a player will kick the ball towards an open part of the field for his teammate to run onto the ball).

It's kinda in between; definitely attack minded, but not played at such a pace, it's a bit more technical than the premiership/british way.
