I don't know...but if I were Big Ben, I would tattoo a headband on my head (a red one) just to irk them (Skiles, etc.).

From what I have read this seems to be a rule created by John Paxon when he became the general manager of the Bulls. Many of the players were wearing headbands in odd ways, (at angles apparently) and Paxon handed down a rule that said players could not wear headbands during games.

It's a team rule implemented by the "Old School" Scott Skiles who thinks that headbands can be disrespectful and look sloppy when worn around your neck ala Eddie Robinson.

If Skiles had it his way everyone would stillbe wearing the Larry Bird shorts.

I dont even see prostitutes wear shorts as tight and short as the old Larry Bird shorts....how did that guy even move in those? They were painted on! But yeah, Skiles old school rule, no headbands.....but Hinrich should be allowed to wear one..he would look ill in one!

I think the idea is retarded. WHat does wearing a head band have to do with playing basketball.
Whenever team coaches and management instate irrelevant rules like these, it only serves to make players loose respect for their coaches and team higher-ups.
I think the coaching staff were just looking for a way to show the players who was boss and all they could come up with was "Dont wear head bands anymore".
