Porn is not just a problem for our children, it also clutters our
search results with irrelevant sites when doing typical Internet
research. There is a very simple way to fix the problem but
because or culture, and our politicians, are purely profit driven it
has not been implemented. So write your congressmen, senators,
president and local officials asking for this simple change to the
internet:
Implement .xxx as a top level domain (like .com and .net) and
make it a crime punishable by HUGE fines to put porn on any
domain but .xxx
Easy to filter, easy to implement. Parental control software is a
"band aid" solution with only limited effectivenes to a much larger
problem.

Take charge of your computer.
I appreciate that you do not want this material coming onto YOUR personal computer.
You can accomplish this permission in your PC Content Advisor, and then set a password so that the setting can not be changed.
Here's the path:
To block/unblock a site from your own computer, go into your Content Advisor.
The path to use Content Advisor:
In your Internet Explorer browser go to TOOLS> Internet Options > tab CONTENT > frame Content Advisor > button SETTINGS
At this point you will encounter request for Administrator password (IF one has been set)
Enter the password if required; or create a password if you desire.
Do the following to set approved and UNapproved sites:
1. On the General tab you can manage your password and other limitations. Make sure that you select a password that you will NOT ever forget, and something your other users will not ever guess.
2. Next select tab APPROVED SITES
then enter the URL for the site(s) you want and click
either button ALWAYS or button NEVER.
3. Now select tab RATINGS
Select all that you want blocked and set the slide more to the right for higher security.
Copy and paste these instructions into a WORD document, and keep them so that you can remember how to go back and adjust the settings as you like in the future.

I would like to give you some advice, that might be better for your teen daughter then setting up a program to set "parental control".
Now crystal, do you remember yourself at the sweet age of 16? and do you remember how your parents would "try" to enforce the rules? Now I dont know much about you, but I know a pretty good deal about human nature, and I know that if you try to "restrict" your daughters activitys on the internet, she will only find a way around it.
Now here is a step by step guide to defeate most programs that you are more then likly to install...
1) change the proxy (this will take your daughter out of the proxy of the blacklist/whitelist, and allow all websites to be viewed)
2) embedded websites (if you open notepad right now and type the following you can defeat most programs...
then save the document as a html file... bam you just created your own website that embeds yahoo into it...
3) --- highly unrecomended--- download programs onto your computer that will not only crack open the software program, but most will leave you with a pretty bad virus as well...
4) I can go on and on from there,... and gaining system access and removing the program to begin with...
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
she has a great deal of choices of how to "get around" your restrictions....
Now I am not a parent... But i do know what my parents did for myself and my sister... and that was we were Guided, not Restricted... Never were we "disallowed" access to a computer, and never was any subject taboo to talk about with our parents...
This I belive will probobly bring the both of you together rather then drive you apart.
Now,.. for my advice...
The internet is a tool, and as a tool she should be told how to use it. Sit down with her, and tell her the "acceptable" websites and the ones that will harm YOUR computer that you wish she would not go to.
If she miss uses this tool, then you should take it away from her, (just as if she was missusing a hammer or other tool)
hope that helps...
good luck

Well, they have this thing where you personally can monitor what your daughter sees on the internet. There is a filter control that required a passowrd by the administrator (you). If she doesn't know that password, then anything with so much as a bra will be blocked from her view.

i must admit before i respond to your concern that i am 16 years of age, however i can assure you i am a very mature person :P
your daughter is at that age where as you know how her hormons are acting, i am not saying it is 100% right to go to those sites, i am saying its normal and that almost all kids do it (i my self have done so at one point) however, punnishing her will NOT stop her from seeing or even thinking about these things, i assure you though that masterbation is healthy and that she will as she becomes older not visit the sites as much and mature.
you needent worry :) i hope this helps!

DOES YOUR COMPUTER HAVE A SECURITY LEVEL ON IT IN THE CONTROLS? IT SHOULD HELP SOME. BUT HONESTLY YOU CAN TYPE IN GENDER AND IT GOES OFF THE RICTOR ALSO AND YOUNG, I MEAN IT IS CRAZY OUT THERE. I SUGGEST CHECKING IN YOUR CONTROL PANEL AND PUTTING A PASSWORD ON THE COMPUTER SO YOU CAN MONITOR THINGS AS WELL. AND IF YOU GET A GREAT ANSWER WILL YOU EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW RWRIGHT2002@YAHOO.COM? THANK YOU!
