According to Wikipidea, the current Pope Benedict XVI would be the 267th pope.
The papacy has not always been in Rome, Italy (Avignon, France), one pope was only pope for three days before he died and one of the popes may have been a female (she was killed after they found out she was a female and with child) and those two are not counted by some.

There was no Popes in 20BC.
BC means Before Christ.
The first Pope was Peter the Apostle
the present is Benedict the XVI .. there has been a total of 266 legitimate popes.
