Athletic scholarships are usually given by the individual university. In the US, the better athletes are scouted by the different universities so they know who to offer a scholarship. Sometimes, athletes are not scouted due to the size and/or location of their high school. Their coach can usually contact someone from a university and send them tapes of the athlete. This helps, but generally if you are good enough the scouts find you. If you are from another country, do the same. Have your coach send some film or make a tape yourself with your highlights. Baseball and basketball are looking outside the US, but football hs yet to venture there much. Also, consider smaller universities or colleges. The better athletes usually go to the big name universities so the smaller schools may be more willing to give you look.

Athletic scholarships are basically all the same.
It basically depends on what sport you play, what devision you would like to go too, and what you want to do in life.
Scholarships are very hard to get, get your coach to help you.
If you have the determaination and the love for the sport and if your coach believes in you.
You should be fine.
