I am thinking about buying an 06 Chevy Colorado Xtreme and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything negative about the Colorado in general...I am interested to hear what other Colorado owners have to say.

My buddy had one and he hated the 5 cylinder. He said it felt underpowered and uses almost as much gas as a V8.

Well, I'm not an owner, first.

I did buy a new GMC (full size) last month, though, and I looked at the Canyon (GMC's version of Colorado).

To be honest, I am not too fond of the styling of those trucks at all, and that was my main objection. I know that doesn't make too much practical sense, but the fullsize looks SO MUCH BETTER. Even the S10 (in particular the very last iteration with the latest front end) were *really* good-looking trucks. I don't like the "upside down" look of the headlights and turn signals on the front end. I don't like the taillights.

I don't like 5-cylinders. That might not even make sense, but I don't know ANYONE who **wants** an engine with an odd number of cylinders, and while the engine may be fine, they marketing genious behind it should have known that!! How could they NOT use the inline-6 (4.2L) or at least reuse the old 4.3 V6?? Why couldn't they use the 3.8L (3800 series 2 or whatever) V6?

I don't think they're bad trucks, but I just wouldn't buy one for the (admittedly) silly reasons above. I am totally prejudiced **TOWARDS** GM products, but I those trucks just don't appeal to me. I'd rather have the S10 they replaced with those trucks.

This is just my opinion, I'm sure some people like those trucks, but I think if they didn't do the things I've criticized the trucks for, they'd likely sell a LOT more of them, and the General needs all the sales it can get.

If they redesigned the front end/grille and back end, and put in a straight or V6, or an optional 4.8L V8 (Dodge Dakota offers it) I think they would MULTIPLY their sales of those trucks.

the Dodge Dakota and Nissan Frontier are better. The Toyota and Ford are not, and if you want me to explain I will.
