Well, I've heard that sharks attack when they smell blood, and ummm... essentially your period IS blood. So, do sharks attack women on their periods more than other people?

"There are few reported shark attacks on women, and there are no data to support the belief that menstruating females are at an increased risk for shark attacks. But we went to an oceanographer and here is his take on the issue! It has been recommended that a menstruating woman should abstain from swimming in areas where sharks are nearby in order to minimize the risks of attracting sharks. This assumes, of course, that her flow is somehow getting into the water, and with the options available to women today this may not be the case. But it is possible for sharks to sense these fluids and investigate further. Assume that sharks might do this, and common sense should dictate the rules. So, swimming when you are menstruating is fine as long as you are using a tampon!"

My friend says to "Plug It"
But anyway no that can't happen.
While your in water your period stops kind of.
That doesn't mean don't use a tampon while your in the water it will still happen and that ends in a very gross way!

Uh, aren't you using a tampon when you go swimming?? Since it stops the flow, you don't need to worry about it.

that is kind of a funny question, but when you get into the water the blood flow stops, you dont see it draining in the shower do ya???
