Are they retired? If so, call up a travel agency and see what kind of overnights trips that they have by motorcoach bus where you live. Any couple would LOVE an overnight getaway! You could split the cost with siblings and their spouses to save money. My husband and I do this every year for his parents and they LOVE it.

Buy them a nice Christmas card and enclose a gift certificate for some place they go (store, restaurant, etc.) so they can choose what they really want.
