hey i think that i can help you. the body does come off simaliar to the bed, but it would be easier to switch the motor of yours into his truck becuase if you take your truck apart you are going to have to undo all of the wiring and everything electrical. so i would say just put your motor in his truck and save yourself a whole lot of trouble. i hope that helps steer you one way or the other

The other responses are correct as to swapping the engine being easier than swapping bodies. The frames are spaced differently for the extended cab vs. standard, but the big question on this swap is are the motors identical? You can't swap a 2.8 v6 for the 4.3, as EVERYTHING is different if they are 4X4's. Even if it's 2 wheel drive the trans is different. If it's 4X4 the transfer case is different and all of the eletronics for shifting , computer, ect. I know this to be true because a local shop I know tried this. After alot of grief they got the powertrain in but had to send it out to a dealer to get the eletronics correct.

If the wheelbase is the same on the 2 vehicles, you will have to use the bed off the other truck, also. If his has a long bed, you will have to find a short bed. The engine and drivetrain swap would be easier. Unless you have a 4 cylinder and his was a six.
Any thing can be done, but, at what cost.

i would do a engine swap it would be easier than swapping the body but the cab does come off but if your truck is not long wheel base you will have to extend the frame of the truck then you going to run in to wiring if it is not the same year it my no have the same wiring set up if you do/do not have power windows and his is opposite then the wiring my be different so i would think about it hard before i done body swap engine swap will be easier by far

Much easier to switch a motor than a body.

I'd think that it would be way easier to switch out the drivetrain into his truck, rather than switching the whole body. That is a major amount of work!

Not easy. not worth the effort.

Now an engine swap, that would be a much better plan assuming the engines are similar.

A body swap would be like trying to unscramble an egg.

You must be mexican, lol. why not do a motor swap? That would be MUCH easier than trying to swap the body.

Change the motor and/or trans.
Much less work.
