So what do people think a recurring dream in which my teeth fall out would mean? Am I becoming impotent? Should I try to kill my mother? Am I craving pudding or some other food that doesn't require teeth? Do I just need to brush more? Any thoughts?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

since you mentioned impotent...
you are definitely constantly worried of becoming impotent and the fact that you will be embarrassed in front of your partner...the dream has nothing to do with food...

don't worry...and don't have such fear...

talk to your partner or a health professional and have your worry take a root out of your mind...

Personally, I would say that it means whatever you want it to mean. You could probably ignore it and be fine the rest of your life, or you could try to use it to better your life. If you want to pursue it, it could stand for either the appearance thing (like was said before) or that you are having issues with more basic functions of life that you should pay attention to (Maslow's hierarchy).
