I have all-white Vans canvas sneaker slipons. What should I use to make it almost as new? i bought Kiwi Sport's Heavy Duty Cleaner (shoe cleaner), but all it did was spread the dirt around... I also already bought water repellent.
Last time I used bleach, it bleached my shoe yellow.
What products and procedures would I need to use to make it as clean as possible?

Are the red accents canvas too or plastic. You can wash them in the machine but I wouldn't use bleach if the red is dyed on the fabric of the shoe and don't over pack the machine with other stuff. I use reg. laundry soap and oxy~clean in the wash and they turn out great. When you take them out put some news paper in the toes to keep their shape, and let them air dry on the line or in the house. Good luck!

I am a tenni-shoe girl and I always wash mine in hot water with a few more items like t-shrts or something. Don't fill up your washer with a whole lot of clothing because you tennis shoes needs to move around freely. After the was and rinse, I take the out and let them air-dry for a couple of days. That's what works for me.

I have used either liquid laundry detergent and warm water, or sometimes for my sons really dirty shoes, I take some Soft Scrub with bleach, and put some on a wet paper towel to clean them. Straight bleach is not a good idea.

2-remove laces and inserts,rinse with water inside and out
3-use soft brush with cleaning solution.scrub every part of shoes,including lining and insoles
4-remove scuff marks with a nylon bac scrub pad
5-rinse thoroughly with clean water
6- stuff shoes with paper(not news paper) this absorbs excess water and helps keep shoe shape, allow to drip dry,also apply baking soda
7- apply white cream shoe polish and let dry

I am a proud Ked's wearing gal. When my cute little shoes need spiffing up I bring out white shoe polish. Not only do the shoes get sparkling white, but they seem to repel water better too.

I scrub my keds with oxyclean, then wash with the rest of the whites with a cup of bleach and warm water.
Not sure why bleach turned them yellow, I've never had that happen with my Chuck Taylors either.

To take yellow out follow the deletion instructions for and soak in Mrs. Stewart's Blueing.
