I've noticed that the Religion/sprituality and GLTB areas seem to have been 'claimed' by religious and gay/bi/trans people. By contrast, in government/politics there's an expectation of conflicting views and that's acceptable. In the religion/spirituality and gay areas, there seems to be little tolerance for opposing ideas or views. The message coming from those groups seems to be, "If you're in opposition, get out of here"

I'm not talking about flamers who purposely look to humiliate or attack, but people with legitimate and genuine differences.

What is happening here is a reflection of what is happening in our larger society. We really do seem to be dividing up into two camps.

Religious beliefs have long been a source of hostility in many cultures. People have been killed in this country and others over another's religious dogma. There are historical documentations over WARS being fought over religion.

People will continue to die throughout the world over this difference. A tragedy, but a fact nevertheless.

i've got faith that that's an illustration of a susceptible argument if somebody says that an opposing veiw should not be heard. regardless of the undeniable fact that, i think of that it is the atheists that do this the main. One occasion could be that in the time of a public place, you may get kicked out for speaking to somebody approximately God (i've got considered this take place), yet no person cares in case you start up speaking approximately evolution. yet another occasion: In maximum faculties (incredibly public faculties), God isn't allowed. in the time of technology classification, evolution is taught as certainty (fairly of what it relatively is: concept), and the point out of sensible layout (identity) isn't even to be stated, even nevertheless there are scientific data that factor in the direction of identity (in case you do not have faith me in this, then you definately can e mail me and we are able to talk approximately it). They in no way even difficulty going over the scientific data that would desire to factor to identity and if all of us tries to question evolution they are considered a fool and that they are no longer allowed to voice their opinion on it. i think of it is fairly stupid for Christians to assert that atheists should not be allowed to state their veiws. yet whilst a Christian is calling a query to different Christians that has no longer something to do with what an atheist believes (working example bearing directly to the Bible or something), it is form of stressful whilst an atheists are available to assert that what the Christians have faith is incorrect, because of the fact's no longer the question they are asking. i think of that the atheist would desire to attend to voice their veiws until somebody is honestly asking them what they think of.
