I'm a circumsized 34 year old man who recently noticed that the skin in and around my genitals has emitted an unpleasant odor. I have never had problems with smegma in the past (being circumsized, I didn't think it would be an issue). What is the cause of this, who should I see about it, and does anyone have suggestions as to how to best keep clean "down there"?

when you shower, aim the water jet directly on your genitals and use warm water and lots of soap. After shower, spray on plenty of Witch hazel. . this should do it. do this daily and let the water go hard on your skin. Also use corn starch on your balls and thighs to cool off and absorb sweat.

Are you having any other problems, such as skin discoloration, particularly on the head of the penis or directly underneath? Any change in the texture of the skin of your penis? Does washing your genitals with soap tend to exacerbate the problem?

It's very possible that you could have a yeast infection. Yes, men get them, and yes, they suck. You should be able to have this looked at by a general practitioner. Ask the doctor if he/she can give you a prescription for Diflucan (generic name: Fluconazole). It is a pill that is normally given to women for yeast infections, but it works for men as well - much better than any topical cream. Usually a prescription of one to three pills is given. One or two pills will generally knock it out in about 3 days, and you'll notice improvement within 24 hours.

DO NOT - I REPEAT - DO NOT USE SOAP! These infections are FUNGAL, *not* bacterial. Anti-bacterial soap could actually wind up killing the *good* bacteria that your system needs to fight the fungus. Until you can see the doctor, I'd advise eating plain yogurt with live bacteria cultures. You might even try putting some of it on your genitals. Couldn't hurt.

Have you removed the pubic hair? That is a very common cause of stinkiness in the area. Without hair there, the air doesn't circulate properly, and all the fungi, bacteria, etc that like moist dark places multiple like crazy. Your privates are their own little petri dish. You may need some cream to get rid of the junk growing there, but letting the hair grow will keep it from happening again.

Bacterial infections can cause this and can be easily cured, with prescribed medication, which is usually cured right away ( in 24hr) The best thing to do is see your doctor. Also if there is a woman involved it may be possible that she is caring the bacteria and it has been passed on to you. Good luck.
