I just stopped taking my birth control Novemer 28,2006 and my husband wont' be home until December 27, 2006. Do you think my pills would be out of my system by then if we want to try for a child? I'll be ovulating December 31, 2006.

it could or it couln't be, it is going to be very hard for any of us to diagnose how long it will take for the contraceptive to be completely out of your system. i have known people who have gotten pregnant the first month after coming off of the pill and some who are still trying, I have heard that you are supposed to be pretty fertile once you stop taking the pill but try not to stress about it just relax eat healthy, and start taking prenatal vitamins now even though you arent pregnant yet it will be better in the long run there is no harm in taking them they can only do good for you but make sure they have some kind of folic acid in them I take Stuart Prenatal vitamins that have 800mcg od folic acid in them which i have heard these prenantals are pretty good. but i wish you the best of luck to you and your husband as you travel down the road of trying to conceive.

well the doc says that if u even Miss a pill then pregnancy is an option. So go for it. Me personally, i was on the shot for 2 years and i stopped getting it may 05 and i still cant get pregnant! And during that 2 years there was 3 times that i was late getting the shot so the doc made me go 2 weeks and a pregnancy test before she would give it to me. The moral is, every body is different. Good Luck.

I got pregnant on the pill. Yasmin. Was also on amoxicillin for pneumonia which apparently negated the prophylactic effects. That was with kid #2. With #1, I went off the pill and never got another period. Got pregnant the first time I ovulated! And my daughter is 23 months, 38 lbs., and speaks complete sentences. So that BS about waiting 3 mos. til you're off the Pill to try is BS. If you want to try, have sex. If it's meant to happen it will happen.

It generally takes about 3 months for them to be completely out of your system so it may take some time. But, remember you can get pregnant on the pill it all depends on your body. You'll get pregnant when god intends for you to!
Good Luck!

Talk to your doctor first. Did you talk to your husband about wanting a child? He may want some time alone with you.

Depends how long you were on the pills. But it is never too soon to start trying. Good Luck,

You will probably get pregnant quickly, but it's best to wait 3 full cycles to have a healthy baby and prevent a miscarriage. As per my doctor (going through it myself!)
