my laptop was connected via RJ 45 cable from my desktop pc...it works for few days..but now it doesn't work anymore..i mean there is a signal (says it is connected) with sent and received packets working properly but when i open IE to my laptop..i could not open any site. can you tell what happened?

check your signal strength if it is really low it often times will not work accurately. also at the bottom of the window when you open a web page when you open the IE the first time after logging on the computer. check and see if it is detecting proxy settings. if it cannot then your signal is too low and will not open web pages.
