I was just wondering if anyone knew the laws regarding same sex unions of any kind for the state of West Virginia and Ohio..Also what states allow same sex unions?
I have a debate tomarrow and need the info....

I tried and all I get is old election stuff...I'm not that dumb...

Massachusetts allows gay marriage. (as does Canada, Sweden, Holland and various other countries). VT has civil unions with the same rights. NJ will pass a law within months either establishing gay unions or gay marriage. NY is heading toward, but not at, gay unions.

West Virginia still has a law on the books prohibiting gays completely -- but the law is unenforced and unenforceable -- a leftover of an older day. As for Ohio -- I don't know but I believe that it is barred there as well, but I know homosexuality itself is legal.

A few years ago a constitutional amendment in Ohio was passed to ban same-sex unions.

I don't believe there are any that allow same sex marriage. west Virginia and Ohio are conservative, so I doubt they would.
