The question is redundant as there is neither a hell nor a heaven. Both are here.

That has always been one of the interesting paradoxes in Christianity that I have wondered about...

I mean they talk about Heaven being a place of eternal happiness and no sorrow, BUT how can that be if the case you put forth is true... It makes little sense. It would require the heaven bound people to lack empathy of any kind and that seems EXTREMELY counter-intuitive and well... counter-productive to the whole Christian ideal (not that many people actually achieve said ideal but some perhaps try, the rest just SAY they try).

Good freakin question, I think it goes along the same lines as:

How could such a loving god (a Father as they say) send his children to suffer for ETERNITY over what they did in the comparatively minuscule amount of time we have on earth... (I mean like 100 years max... ) I just have to wonder what ANYONE (*aside from perhaps Adolf Hitler*) could do in less than 100 years to deserve ETERNAL suffering...

Just doesn't make sense when you actually THINK about it in any logical way...

That is a really great question!
I'm sure that as the most important people in my life dont or didn't see hell in the way most Christians use that term those that believe in heaven will be happy because WE will all be together or given the chance to be! My Daughter, Mum & Dad are/were Christians especially important to me she doesnt and they didn't think their God will condemn me for not believing in him. My son & husband like myself dont believe a God or heaven/hell exists. Only Death or God's arrival on Earth could change our minds!
How any people can worship a Vengeful God whatever their religions are called........Its beyond MY understanding!

I came across a great way of seeing on YA a week or two ago: God who is very loving, would not be loving at all if he allowed the dead to watch their loved ones get into trouble or end up in hell and not let them do anything about it. This is evidence that when you die you do not go to heaven. It is confirmed by what the Bible says about the state of the dead at Ecclesiastes 9 vs 5, 10. The dead are concious of nothing at all, the remembrance of tham has been forgotten. Really, they are about as unconious as it's possible to get: they have ceased to exist. However, the Bible hold out the hope of a resurrection. John chapter 11 and Revelation 21 v4 is encouraging in this regard.

Yep - because nothing unhappy can enter heaven. You'd cherish the happy memories of the friends and family in hell but wouldn't be able to think the unhappy thoughts about them not being there with you. Apparently.

Could they be happy living a boring life of eternal bliss, day after day after millenia after millenia?

Are they happy wearing the same clothes they were buried in for all eternity?

Are they happy knowing their soulmate cheated on them and went to hell, while they made it to heaven?

Are they happy Hitler made it to heaven by a last minute death bed repentence?

Are they happy that of the 106 billion souls that have ever walked the earth, that heaven is too full to find anyone?

why on earth would anybody want to go to heaven without the people they loved. it would not be heaven without them, it would be hell an eternity of sorrow. when i was very young i got very upset when a teacher told me that my dog, who had just died, would not go to heaven because it had no soul. if as some the other people, who responded to your question said, we are made to forget them or made to realise they deserve punishment, we would no longer be us. what i mean is that our core identity would be so altered that you would not be the person you are now but just a facsimile, you will have been fiddled with, no longer truly human. you would have to be modified anyway an eternity of bliss would drive any normal human totally insane. do you understand the implications of this. no sane person who has ever lived will ever reach their hypothetical heaven intact, as a complete person. i don't think the Caterpillar/butterfly argument works with this either.

if we believe only good people go to the heaven, they will never feel happy when they know that their friends and family suffering in the hell. the reason is good people having feelings of compassion, forgiveness would not get happiness when other people are suffering even those people are their enemies.

Speaking in a metaphorical sense, one would ask oneself what could one do about either situation. Can I help for example. If I cannot help, then all I can do is not gloat about being in heaven.

Sure you would be happy in heaven. You are asking if you would have any guilt about those who are in hell. I doubt you would as you would not be in heaven otherwise.
