whenever i open yahoo messanger why do i get lots of troubles?

Recently, I always get offline messages from my contacts, telling me to go to a website (the website address are all different). Lucky for me, I didn't click on the link. But a few of my contacts did and that is why they got infected too. Once they are infected, their yahoo messenger will send a mass message to all their contacts, asking them to open a url.
One of my contacts (in yahoo messenger) is able to clear the virus. He scan his computer using his Norton antivirus. Then he also uses his spybot. You can go to www.spybot.info to download.

its possible you have got a virus spread thru messenger, such as getting a im with a link in it
you need to get rid of the infection to stop the problems
update your anti-virus and do a full scan

The "virus" is not in Messenger, but in your computer. It is probably adware of spyware that has attached itself to Messenger. Go here and download and run Ad-Aware SE personal.

well.. you need somthing to protect you from spyware or viruses .. like MacAfee or norton..

i would delete it and redownload yahoo messinger it might work i dont knwo
