There is only one wrong way to rake leaves and that is on a windy day when all of the leaves have not fallen from the trees. I've found that to be extremely frustrating, time consuming and down right stupid! Been there, done that. Another hint, avoid raking after a rain or heavy dew. Man, those leaves get heavy!

One "right" way to do it saves both time and energy. Rake the leaves into several large piles around the yard, instead of trying to rake them all to one place. Then I got a large dustpan with a long handle which with the help of the rake makes it so much easier to get them into the green bin without bending over.

I have raked a lot of leaves but I have never heard of a right or wrong way to do it.

On a good dry windy day, rake with the wind. If it's blowing back at you,do something else. The wind helps when you get them up in the air as you go. If they blow into your neighbors yard, just hope that the wind doesn't come from the opposite direction a few days later ALWAYS RAKE WITH THE WIND.

Easiest way is to blow them into a pile - then hopefully you have the blower that vacumes/mulches. If so put the vacume tube on and the leaf bag. You will have some great mulch for the garden and it reduces the amount by about 20 - 1.

I blow mine against my fence, then pick them up. Not hard at all.
