Dabbing your nose, yes. But down right blowing your nose with the cloth napkin at the table, that's when you are suppose to step away from the table and go to the restroom.

Think about it this way - the next time you sit down at a restaurant and go to put a cloth napkin in your lap, do you want to wonder about the last person who used it?

Mr. Dude Sir,
you sound like my youngest son (26). He'll all of a sudden get this enormous sneeze start'n and blow the whole restaurant away!PLEASE put the napkin up to your face to protect anyone (and their food) around you and quickly exit to the washroom. If just a regular blow . . . find something approiate. We !

NO WAY! go to the bathroom and preform all your disgusting bodily functions. I ,as the person who has to see you do this while i am eating am thoroughly grossed out!... and with a cloth napkin!...You know those arent disposable...Go blow your nasty snot germs on paper in the bathroom... If you want to be a pig at home ... goahead.... Not when your out.

It is never appropriate to blow your nose at the table, to use cloth napkin is plain rude & ignorant. Please do get up & go to the washroom & purchase an etiquette book

I wouldn't with a cloth napkin, find some tissue or toilet paper. Then yes, discreetly. With my allergies, I know all about drippy noses!

This was my question. I was trying to be totally fair to my 54 yr. old son who did this last night as he sat across the table from me at Bonefish Grill with a large room full of dinners. I just sat and stared at him! Today I told him I was going to give him old fashioned handkerchiefs for Christmas and that it was not the proper thing to do. He looked at me like I was crazy and said "Well, I carry tissues!" Lord, help me!
