narration is in the first person.

I am qualified for this job because etc etc etc, there was this one time I showed leadership skills when I etc etc etc..If I was in your company this is how I would contribute so on and so forth.

keep it brief, no one wants to read a long rambling essay, but make it long enough to highlight all your good points.

A narrative statement should be in the first person point of view, you should talk about your great qualities and how you have applied them in previous jobs or if this is your first job in your life and any great accomplishments.
It should be about a page long, typed (looks more professional and prepared) and attached it to the application.

Don't write the beginning. This is what I do. I get a crazy schizophrenic (not really) conversation in my mind--usually funny--between two characters and I write it down. It doesn't matter where it's put in the novel, but it will help you think. It will help you with the characters and the setting and the plot. Don't go by the books and the "right" way of doing something. Writing is such a creative process, so do you what YOU want and what YOU think works. Hope I helped :)

it is classically in 2nd or 4th perspective, (even numbers always for narratives) and you basically just describe what has happened in the statement...

what's appropriate is minimal punctuation and an even flow of words.

good luck!!
