It is used to play .mov files which I think are Mac video files. They now have a quick time alternitive codec so you can play .mov videos in Windows media player and not have to download/ pay for quick time.

It is a free program that allows you to watch quicktime/mov files. They are usually used for film trailers on the apple website.

Videos, music and photo files. Does not have to be in any Mac format, anymore.
