Look on the rating plate for the loading. How long is a day? working day or 24 hours?? If its a 1 kw rating and its on for say 8 hours it will cost about 8x1=8 x12p = 96p per 8 hour day, depends on your exact cost for electricity. If it's 2kw and on all day, 24 hours it will cost, 2x24x12p = £5.76 per day!

The exact figure depends on how much your electric company charges per kilowatt hour, how many watts your halogen heater uses and how often you have it turned on. Other factors would be if it has a temperature control which turns the unit on and off depending on the room's ambient temperature or if there is a control which allows you to use half of the elements at a time. Just to give you an example, electricity here is about 10 cents per kilowatt hour. We have a halogen heater that runs 1800watts. 1000 watts in a kilowatt so it costs 18 cents per hour, running full bore. If I left it run for 24 hours, it would cost me $4.32 for the day. Substitute in your figures and you can figure out exactly how much it would cost for you.

Look on the heater for it's power in watts. Divide that number by 1000. Find the amount that your city charges for 1 Kwatt (kilowatt). Multiply the first number with the amount charged by your electric company. That's how much it would cost per hour to run your heater. Multiply by 24 to get your answer.
