The sky's the limit. That is, define "sky", what you can see from any fixed point? Because standing on a globe you could go until you make a full circle. Or are you leaving the confines of earths atmosphere and all clouds and elements that make it visible to the human eye, floating off into outer space? You literally have asked the question: "How high is up?".

well, the sky ur referring to is actualy the atmosphere of the earth. the atmosphere does have an end, hundreds of kilometers above ur head and above that we have space.
and yes, the atmospher is just hanging there. it is kept around the earth by the gravity of the earth.
