Wolf was an average pitcher. He had great games and he had terrible games. It would help if the Phillies got him back though. The Phillies are missing out on everything this offseason. They couldn't negotiate with Soriano, didn't have a chance to offer a contract to Carlos Lee, let Wolf go, let Victorino go, doing nothing with Pat Burrell, and recently backed out of a 3 year deal with Joe Borowski. Good thing for them that Jason Schmidt and Barry Zito are still available.

Randy Wolfe is an average pitcher at best. He was never close to being the ace of the Phillies staff and he won't be the ace in LA. Just a journeyman pitcher trying to get a few more bucks before his so-so career ends. You are over estimating his value to the team. The Phillies will need a hell of a lot better pitcher than Wolfe if they intend to make a run for the playoffs. And don't hold your breath because the Phillies NEVER spend money. They just pick at the leftovers.

We already replaced him with Adam Eaton.
Wolf was too big of a risk. He only had one good year with the Phillies (he went 16-10 in 2003), and has been pretty sub par for the rest of his career, and spent a great deal of time on the DL.
We've poured too much money into him already. He may have potential if he stays healthy, but the same could have been said for Bo Jackson in the 90's, and I wouldn't want him either.
Potential doesn't win a World Series. It just makes a baseball card valuable for about a year. He has been doing us absolutely no good. Time to move on...
PS: Don't hold your breath on Jason Schmidt. He already said he wants to stay on the west coast. Zito is a possibility, but I doubt it. The Phillies have a horrible track record for signing free agent pitchers.

Are you kidding me?
No one is irreplaceable. It depends upon how much the Phillies want to spend on his replacement. Zito, Schmidt, Meche, Lilly, Padilla are all quality free agent pitchers that are now available. Make a bid see how you fare, get in the game.

There are a dozen free agent starters better than Wolf. Jason Schmidt for one.
Don't worry.
