Friend - Check with the school guidance counselors. Most credits from one college for a degree will transfer to another. You should start at the new college as a junior regardless. Good luck. GBU

A lot depends on the institution. Many four-year universities have established transfer credits with certain colleges. The two have agreed that first year English at one is the equivalent of the same course at the other. In that case, it's an automatic transfer. But even if there is no pre-established agreement, when you apply to the second school, be sure that you contact the registrar or whoever evaluates transfer credits. Chances are pretty good that most if not all your courses will transfer.

You need to check with the college(s) you'd like to transfer to. In most cases, however, if you have actually attained the associate's degree, the college is likely to admit you with junior standing so you shouldn't have to take much (if any) general ed classes. You will concentrate on your major field and should be able to finish a bachelor's in the equivalent of two more years. Every college treats transfers differently, though, so check with the admissions counselors at your school.

The places that offer an associates rarely ever offer bachelors degrees. Therefore it is normal to get your bachelors at a totally different school than where you got your associates.

Generally speaking, as long as you earned your Assoc. from an accredited university, the degree should carry over allowing you to pursue Bachelor-level study. However, you may need to begin your coursework with the prerequisite courses for that program, adding to the credits required for graduation.
