Datura is hallucinogenic. The ancients used it as well as mushrooms, cacti, etc. to induce trance states.

You won't be harmed handling it (careful of the prickery seed pods) but you don't want to eat it especially the roots.

Same basic care as any plant, water, sun, fertilizer.

It's just a type of morning glory. They are in the sweet potato family.and pretty much benign. Although they are related to tomatos, peppers and potatos, there are some highly toxic plants in the family of nightshades (deadly nightshades). They grow wild where I live and should be avoided.

moonflowers/ mornign glory is not dangerous unless injested. They have what is called LSA. Kinda like LSD. i've heard of people eating them and ending up insane. Also dont feed to pets!! Fatal if injested.
