if you think that you need to breakup with someone when is the best time to do it?
if it's right before a holiday should you wait until after, or would it be kinder to do it as soon as possible?

my friend asked for my opinion, but i've been married a long time so i don't think that i'm real qualified to answer. i thought that after xmas would be better, but i'm not sure.

Why delay the inevitable?? If youre gonna break up, do it NOW. There is never a "good time" to break someone's heart - so if youre gonna do it, do it sooner than later. Thats just common sense and common courtesy. You wait til after the holidays and the excuse turns to "tax season". Wait a while longer to break up, and its "spring time - cant let him be alone while everything else is mating!" So you wait a while longer and its phucking xmas again.....

Just do it already!!

The best time to do this is after everything. If there is anything major for either person then that is a bad time, especially if you already have something planned and are prepared for it. I would wait until their are no birthdays or holidays or anniversaries and then break up. That way there are no excuses that the other person can blame you for. An example would be "you just broke up with me before Christmas so you wouldn't have to buy me anything". If you wait until everything is in the clear, then they can't use arguements like that against you.

Do it before the holiday, that way the person will be with family to comfort him or her.
