If you were really in love with them, and you cared for them deeply, I don't think you ever "GET OVER" them. What a lot of people don't do is to take time out for themselves. When you break-up with someone after being in a long-term relationship, you really need to take time to heal before you move on to another person because you can't give your whole heart to him/her fully because that other person is holding a part of it. How long it takes....Well that depends on you. You have to ask yourself "How long am I going to allow this person to hold my heart?" Take time, Heal, enjoy being single, and when you feel no presence of the other person then you are over them. Of course when you see them with some one else for a split second, you will go back there but if you do and when you are able to say, well good for them then you are definitely over them. I hope this helped because I've been where you are and that is what I did. Take care and be HAPPY!!!

Always keep yourself busy doing positive things.....like going to the gym, getting with people who care about you, like family and real friends. And real friends are those who will be there for you through thick and thin. Always talk about what you are feeling. Don't keep everything bottled inside because that's not good. Think about what I said. You will feel alot better. And it may take her just as long to get over you as it is for you to get over her. It will take time. You will be okay. Trust me.

If you start having a good relationship with a new person it will help. Also think of all the bad things about the person. Lastly, tell yourself that love and emotional feelings are not important. They are just wastes of time. This will help you to let them go.

U usually don't get over them, u just choose to move on and in moving on u will find that they dont take up that much space in your head anymore. If they are over you, they first find a new partner and throw it in your face like u dont exist.

You don't. You just learn how to move on in your life. But you'll always wonder about that someone.
Usually a gut feeling tells whether or not they are over you.

Look for someone new. You can tell if they are over you by the amount of time they spend with you. Time is everyone's most precious commodity.
