to copy files, highlight the file(run your mouse over it by left clicking on the top and holding down your key all they way down), then right click and select the option you want to do...copy, cut, paste. Then open the file you want to transfer TO, and right click and select the past feature. The copied file will appear in the new place.
If you want to do a whole file, go to "my documents" and and open that. On the left, there is a space to create a new folder. Do that, then highlight the old folder and tell the machine to move the file into the new folder. BTW, there is a place under "accessories" to learn how to work with windows, and how to do this stuff.

To copy an entire file, right-click on it with your right mouse button and choose: "copy"
Then, after you are ready to paste it somewhere, just right click on that folder, page, etc. and select "paste" from the menu.
Good luck!

You go to the file's name in the directory and highlight it. Then you press cntrl+C keys. Then you go to the destination for the file. Click on it and then you press cntrl-V to paste it.
If you prefer you could instead do a right click on the file and use COPY and PASTE from the pulldown menu that opens.

just highlight whatever you want to copy, once you see the highlight on toip of the letters, press CTRL key ( bottom left on keyboard) and "C" at the same time. This will copy what you highlighted.
After this is done, go to where you want to paste it and put the mouse there. Then press CTRL and "V" together, and you will see what you highlighted being pasted there.
