I say nonChristians can kiss my white Christian behind. They say I cannot pray in school, yet set aside special prayer rooms for Ramadan. Maybe Christians need to start car bombing and beheading folks.

To me, taking Christ out of Christmas is like taking the menorah out of Hanukkah. To say that they can't be called Christmas Trees any more (but must be Holiday Trees instead) is just as insulting as someone calling a menorah a candle-holder.
I was very glad to see that it's still being called Christmas In Rockefeller Center last night. If it had been Happy Holidays In Rockefeller Center, I would have thrown a fit.
I think, if it is a Christmas Festival, people should definitely be allowed to call it that. If you're not Christian, you really have no business being at a Christmas Festival. If you prefer a Holiday Festival, whatever, but if they are choosing to call it a Christmas Festival, then it should be about CHRISTMAS and not trying to make people of all religions happy.
It's only a matter of time before Easter gets attacked too... well, you already see big pink bunnies all over the place... OK, never mind. Easter has already lost its Christian meaning. You never see signs that say Resurrection Sale Extravaganza, just as we're seeing far less signs that say Christmas Extravaganza. Pretty soon, Easter is going to melt into the HOLIDAY pile of mush.
When it does, I think the world will be much worse off. Just as we are now, with Christmas becoming just another Holiday.

Christmas has become known for trees, lights, Santa Claus, Rudolph, and presents - the Christ part of it is usually just part of the religious services. Look at the tv listings - most of the 'Christmas' specials have nothing to do with Jesus or God. You don't have to be a Christian, then, to enjoy 'Christmas' as its portrayed today. Separation of Church and State is probably why the religious aspects were removed from that particular festival. If it was presented by a particular charity, if that charity didn't have a religious focus, or if funders of that charity were of all religions, then the charity would probably want to keep the festival as mainstream as possible - those non-believers could enjoy it, and no one has to worry about the people who are paying for it getting offended and withdrawing their funds.

I am sick of people who describe any Christian thinking in governement as being against the constitution.
That Idea came from James Madison in a letter to which he was trying to describe the fact that Government needs to stay out of the church, not the church out of Government. Grow up people, remember the people pushing this Seperation issue believe "You must fool most of the people all of the time, but if you can't then you must fool all of the people most of the time. For crying out loud people open you eyes!!!!! It's the tail wagging the dog and I'm getting a little tired of it. That stupid idea runs the gammit of politics on both sides.
The really stupid thing is that thinking is coming out of our Universities. I suppose I can understand that since most of the teachers grew up in the early 70's or had parents that grew up in the 70's. Youl know Tetra-hydrocannabinal stays in the brain. Time to stop chasing our tails and fnid people that have a healthy brain not a socialist brain!

A public christmas festival is secular in nature and they will get alot more business with it being secular. I would not go to one with jesus stuff all over the place.
How are you offended by Islam? Disliking a whole group because of some extrememists is not very christian of you.

Christ has been banned from Christ-mas because it isn't politically correct to have a holiday where just one group of people get to celebrate. But I bet 50 bucks that they won't do this for any other holiday. They aren't going to take hanakah away from the jewish people.

Jack, I agree with you.
Being PC (Politically Correct) is having someone tell you what you think and say.
I say, Merry CHRISTMAS!
If someone is offended for the reason of the season...then they don't have to celebrate it.
I know someone is bound to say that Christmas is actually a pagan holiday. However it is not. It is the celebration of Jesus Christ of Nazareth's birth.
The holiday that is pagan is the winter solstice which is celebrated a few days before Dec. 25th.
BIG DIFFERENCE!

The City of Chicago is sponsoring the kindelstore or whatever it's called--the German Holiday Market...therefore, that is GOVERNMENT and our constitution demands a separation between Church and State (meaning government)...So that's why.
Someone could sue. Who wants to pay more money for our city sticker if they sue--not me!

i don't know what the world is coming to. Christ is gonna be mad when he returns. everything we do should be for him. we are not a nation under God. we can't even say his name in public anymore. if you don't like God, don't look at the show. don't pray, just go to hellll and die!!!!!!!!!
