I tried to warm my globe but it set off the smoke detector.

No, because it is predicted that global warming leads to an early ice age. The warming cause a disruption in the ocean currents in the Atlantic and everything starts go get really cold in the Northern hemisphere. It is suggested ice ages are 40,000 to 100,000 years apart in some cases. The last one ended, key word ended not is ending, about 14,000 years ago...or was it 10,000 years ago? In any case, scientists claim that a combination of the earth's orbit taking us farther than usual from the sun combined with the tilt...ah screw it. Yes, that is the best time.

Yes Global warming should really be thought of in terms of climate change. For example it was 17 degrees below zero in eastern Colorado this morning, the problem with that is those temperature don't get that low until January and February.

Don't be fooled, Even if you speed up warming of the Earth and it was 2 degrees warmer over all..There would be still winters, but they would not last as long and the snow in certain area's would not stay on the ground as long. ( See the Earths Rotation around the sun during winter months ) Another tip, Keep an eye on ground soil coverage from the west to the East..( over all soil moisture year from year )
