Burning a CD is way quicker than burning a DVD. Burning a DVD usually takes more than an hour.

My experience is this.
Although DVDs store a lot more info, it takes shorter time to burn a DVD with the same amount of data as a CD. I've tested this.

My theory is that DVD stores more on the same size disk because the 'grooves' are much smaller. Since the grooves are much smaller and the disk is spinning about the same speed, it takes shorter time to go through the task of burning info on the blank media.

That's just my theory, though.

Burning a cd is quicker. A DVD has more information to copy. I use 1 Click Dvd Copy 5 and AnyDvd to copy all my Dvd's. It takes about 20 to 35 minutes to copy a Dvd.

HOLY CRAP...reading some of the responses you got on this one, geez, have you people ever burned a dvd?

it depends on the amount of data you are burning. a cd holds about 700 MEGS of data as a dvd will hold 4.7 GIGS of data burning 700 MEGS will always be faster than burning 4.7 GIGS. BUT it will take the same amount of time to burn the same amount of data onto either a cd or dvd.

It depends on the size of the CD v. the DVD and the speed of your burner. generally speaking DVD's are larger and burn slower.

It's slower; there's a lot more data on a full DVD than a CD.
