Hi, I purchased a 88 1500 chevy p/u manual and there is nothing to even hint how to remove my dash, I tried the library also with no positive results, is there anyone who could point me to a manual or blow up of some kind? Reason I am removing the dash is for 2 reasons, have the dash painted the same color of my truck and replace the heater core while I have it out, with some help I think I can do it, thanks everyone for reading, Sandra

okay is coolant leaking on the floorboard of your truck if so then you need to change heater core but you don't need to remove entire dash 1 open hood disconnect heater hose's from heater core replace hose's if dry rotted heater core located top passenger side between dash and firewall tools u will need flat and Phillips#2 slip joint or channel pliers after hose disconnected open passenger side of truck look under dash see a the cover with 4 screws remove it, next remove blower fan 4 screws if not Phillips probably 8mm bolt unplug fan before unscrewing then unscrew duct work black box that fan was screwed to oh before u unscrew box disconnect lever a cable that connects blue red switch center of dash to the door in black box duct work my area code is 504 u can call me after7pm if u have any issues remove hear core reassemble in reverse sequence PS if u want to paint dash u don't need to remove it.

To be honest there is nothing that would ever make me try to take the dash out of a vehicle. I'd pay someone and be done with it. I've tried before and ended up just putting it back together. It's a nightmare. Unless you are really patient and have lots of extra time it's just not worth the headache.

at the beginning it isn't any longer an orphus clear out. it is an orifice tube, no filtering in touch. Secondly, What variety of refrigerant did you utilize? I do have faith your motor vehicle used R12 and that's no longer available anymore. It probable "locks up" because of the extreme stress swap or the low stress swap. motor vehicle AC makes use of a undeniable quantity, by using weight, of refrigerant and refrigerant oil. I recommend you're taking it to a qualified AC technician.

don't listen to notaclue, obviously he doesn't have a clue. i'm a guy, and i know a lot of girls who know their way around cars, and i think it's great that you are into customizing your truck. If i were you, i would go to AutoZone and get a Haynes manual on your truck, if they make one for that application. you might also try a chiltons.

You definitely need to talk to a dealer about borrowing a service manual . you stated you purchased one but i am assuming it was one of those from a parts house. and it would not show this procedure.
