We obviously don't know exactly what you go through, but how can men better understand without tip toeing around?

When I'm menstrating, I'm in a lot of pain. Just imagine how annoying it would be to walk around all day with a pulsating pain in your stomach .... and be nice to the woman. Don't assume that she's irrational and overly-emotional, though ... and don't patronize her. If she steps out of line and is unjustly mean to you for sake of crankiness calmly explain to her that you don't appreciate it and move along. Most likely - she'll appoligize if you're right... So - just be polite and act normally. You don't have to tiptoe and you'll not understand - you can, however, sympathize.

okay very good question!
Reality- tip toeing is part of it...sorry.

Follow these steps and you will survive.
#1 this never goes away and must be handled every 15-20 days. So you be prepared as well. Be NOT afraid of purchasing and shopping for "Girl" things.... take an old package for accuracy. That "act of love" endears all woman to you!

#2 It is totally out of the woman's control, so you must change your thoughts and actions to compensate. I am like "mr spok" logical.... oh not for that time frame- LOCO nuts! So no legal descions or requests for something for you.

#3 The hormones are crazy and the Pain is horrible. I would say its feels like running in 30 degree weather with a burning. bloated tire around your waist. Then stop to rest and get kicked in the balls every hour on the hour for four days. That's about right. The pain is crippling!

Tips for men-
The more water she drinks the better she will feel, so offer cold bottled water all the time.

Chocolate all forms. Throw it and run! The good stuff- we do notice the details more at that time.

For the brave man! Peppermint lotion foot rubs, the whole foot and over the ankles ( actually) accupressure sites to help relieve pain.

Quiet time.- That's when you buy them their favorite magazine and chick flick and let them cry and yell and what ever. Pop some corn, give her a diet soda and put her in the recliner and kiss her head and go away.

I made a deal with my hubby. He takes our son out for "boys night dinners". He also goes to game nights with the guys during my cycle, so I can be alone. We both like it that way. Married 12 years- you do the math per months. He brings home chocolate and sometimes flowers on the first day, along with a couple of "girl" magizines or a book I wanted.

He lifts the heavier items for me and carries my bag to the car. I am really "weak" during that time. He is a great guy! He loves the pay back when I'm better! Woman don't forget anything, our body is in pain, but our mind is like a steel trap.

I hope this has helped.
A Wise man is a blessed one. Love will make you do many things and this is one of them.

You know the after-ache you get a short time after a good swift kick in the jewels? Well, that's what a menstrual cramp feels like, only it's all day long and for some it lasts several days. Plus some of us get headaches too. It is very uncomfortable to be walking around with cramps, headache and blood coming out of the crotch. Then, for some, they have to deal with whiny kids and husbands. It's a real joy, let me tell you. If you really want to be "Prince Charming" to your female friend then I highly recommend you pamper her with massages, ibuprofen, and a heating pad. maybe an ice pack for the head. Ask her if you can do anything to help her like maybe clean the kitchen or do some laundry or make dinner or something that's really useful. If you are going to be that type of guy let me know I'll give you my phone number and address!

Ah, that eternal question that has plagued men for
centuries. At least you are thoughtful enough to ask. Most men become hard to find once a month.
Just ask if there is anything you can do to help
during that time. The woman in your life will let you know. Just don't ask during PMS. Your question won't be received well. Until men experience PMS
there just isn't anyway to fully answer your question. But, thanks for asking.

Just ask. I'm sure the women will be more than willing to let their men know how they feel. The key is that the guy should listen and not just complain about the woman being moody.

Well...

You can fix it so that you bleed through your penis for a week and walk around with a really really tight corset on under your clothes that causes the feeling of being over full, bloated and really really uncomfortable for probably 3 or 4 of those 7 days...

Smear grease on your face so that you break out and eat something bad so you experience stomach cramps...

Then make sure you go to work and have to sit on a public toilet because you're passing clots the size of golf balls and it is impossible to stand up.

Do all of that, and then you'll be able to understand exactly why we are so bitchy for 7 days out of every month for 40 years of our lives! With a reward in the end of hot flashes and mood swings to the umpteenth power until finally you are left barren and begin getting masculine with the gradual decrease of progesterone and increase of testosterone... and female hormones used to correct the problem, cause breast cancer and blood clots!

not to mention... all throughout this entire process. We have to put up with giant babies in the form of grown men who behave as though it is a privlidge to follow after them with a shovel cleaning and cooking, servicing them and having and raising their children.

You should lick your girlfriends boots on a daily basis bub!

Start taking an antidepressant for about month. Then go of it right away. Do not wean yourself off. That should give you an equivilant experience to the hormone fluxations of PMS.

I would suggest and have that men aren't the ones who are feeling bloated, depressed, cramping.tired, irritable because
of hormones changing each time we menstruate, mixed emotions about how we feel and can't feel any better until we
are over our cycle and periods.
Men don't have to wear pads and tampons that are uncomfortable .

It's bad enough trying to figure women out when they're not doin the PMS trip.

Seriously...never....NEVER say "Is it that time of the month?". That is just infuriating. Just stay out of the way and try not to lose your temper. It seems unfair, but unless you can experience PMS along with irritability, cramping, bloating, and fatigue, you just can't understand. But wow!, how nice of you to try!
