Establishing a powerful government branch to improve Womens rights?

I believe women in the United States are still living under sexism and gender gap, and our government should fight for these obstacles.

One country where they have higher ranking in gender equality than U.S., there is a powerful governmental branch called "Female Family" with its yearly revenue of 200 billion U.S dollars, and this branch creates legislations like

1. Reserving spaces for females in a particular job in addition to the affirmative action
2. Providing "Paid Vacation" not only for pregnancy but also for period

3. Preserving mother side family name for children, so these children have right to choose either father side family name or mother side one.


I believe our government should make this branch too, so we can minimize sexism and improve womens rights.

The things that you write about in your statement can all be done without government action.

And its not fair to tell an employer that they have to have spaces for a woman in a particular job. What if the job is CEO and there is only one CEO. Do they need a male CEO and then the legally mandated female CEO? That would not be right.

It might be better to give tax incentives to business that have positive male to female employee ratios, or something like that. But holding jobs aside just for women or a certain group is not a good idea.

Paid vacation for pregnancy is sort of a good idea, but you have to think of equality. You can't just have that for women. The male parent should get his equal paid time off or it is sexist in the favor of women.

Also pregnancy is a choice not a mandated activity. People can choose to not get pregnant! So they should not be paid to do so! That would make people do it just for the money and the paid time off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly there is no law that says a woman has to change her name when married. Or that you cannot name your child whatever stupid thing you want. If you can call your child "Pizza," then you can chose to name him after the mother's or father's last name. People already do that.

Also, this is American where is not illegal to hate and be prejudiced. As long as you don't hurt people, you can be against them all you want. You can hate them, and hate their sex and whatever you want, you just can kill them or beat them in a hate crime. So sexist people have the right to live in America. It is their country too.

(3) government programs will not create 5 other problems in the process;

(4) equality can be forced on citizens.

I'd love to see some evidence for point (1).

Regarding point 2, government is terribly incompetent and ineffecient.

Point 3: Usually, if government solves X, it usually creates problems Y, and Z.

Point 4: You cannot prevent people from being racist or sexist because those problems originate in peoples MINDS. You cannot control anyone's mind, unless you wish to take us to Orwell's "1984. "
