My older son would wake throughout the night until he was about a year old. My younger son began sleeping through the night at three months. Neither were fed cereal before four months old, and never in a bottle. My point: there is no "normal". If he still needs to get up for a feeding at two am, then you still need to get up and feed him. Try pumping and having husband get up once in a while for the 2am feeding. At least you'll get your rest. When he's ready, he'll sleep through. CIO? (Crying it out?) I never could let my babies cry. I'd be half asleep, but I'd still hold them and rock them until they calmed down.

I had to let my baby cry for 2 hours for her to settle herself down. It was terrible. I laid on the couch with my baby monitor and cried. I went and checked on her every 15 minutes to make sure that she was ok, and then left her again. I went through this for 2 nights and she's been sleeping through the night ever since. She's 2 now. They need to learn to put themselves to sleep. If they have "props", like a pacifier, then it's difficult for them because they "need" whatever the prop is to fall asleep.
Does he eat when he wakes up or do you just cuddle with him? If he eats, then maybe he's not getting enough to eat during the day. I would talk to his doctor. You can get all the advice in the world, but the truth is what worked for us may not work for you. ALL babies are different. I wish you the best of luck and God Bless.

Um, at 7 months, I don't think you should be breastfeeding. The rice cereal should just make him feel full. Babies don't typically sleep throughout the night.

If he is spitting up or it seams like he cries all night, it might be a touch of colic or acid reflux. I have found that some baby prescription Zantax can calm him down.
