You want to lose weight while working out. If you want to lose in your upper arms focus on that area while working out.

first you need to start on cardio machines, the rower, cross trainer, bike etc start at 5mins per exercise then when you are feeling comfortable with that try 10 mins.keep up the hard work for a few weeks and if you lose weight then start on your weights machines but 1st you need to join a gym and your instructor will show you how to go. i am a gym instructor myself so hope ive pointed you in the right direction. good luck
