IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.
Take It Or Leave It
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the
"politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia.

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own
language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over
two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and
women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish,
Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the
language!

Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian,
right-wing, political push but a fact because Christian men and women,
on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly
documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of
our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another
part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

We will accept your beliefs and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us

If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go," then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture but do not force it on others.

This is OUR country, OUR land and OUR lifestyle, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other
great Australian freedom,"THE RIGHT TO LEAVE " If you aren't happy here, then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here.

So, accept the country that accepted YOU!

Well, what do you think? A fair attitude?

Australia has it 100% correct. Its a shame that the UK doesn't take a similar standing. Its pure common sense.

If I emigrated to Australia, I would be doing it in pursuit of an Australian way of life. If I went to Australia seeking to impose a different way of life on the locals, then it would be like an invasion seeking to conquer.

Growing up in rural Minnesota among immigrants from all over Eastern Europe, I noticed very few first generation immigrants were fluent in English. Views similar to the Australian one above were often expressed, but proved impractical. I noticed six languages on the ballot when I went to help my Uncle vote in 1918. There wasn't any German, due to the war. There was a German newspaper in town though. The first generation of Immigrants doesn't usually master the language, but their children do and it's for the children they come. Think of it as an investment that doesn't really pay off until the next generation. I think Australia doesn't really have the immigrant experience that America does and their culture is far More homogeneous. America took in more immigrants in the first 30 years of the last century than Australia people today.

before I say whither I agree or disagree on your statement, I would like to tell you that having stupid people mingled in your culture is done mistake by the people who where responsible of immigration may be 10 years back. Now its either the same people or some other are acting really stupid in rejecting every immigrant ,, I have a tough experience applying for immigration to Australia.. I'm a professional person,, I speak fluent English as you may read in my statement here I'm an HR Manager very much successful if I may say so earning 10000 US$ a month have four children three of them at college, very well educated and very well raised, we all speak English we all open minded to other cultures and religions and even customs of other nations, but I have been rejected "simply because the person who interviewed me want to sell me a small business in Australia,, when I said no he asked me to provide him with a document proving that I have three Managers reporting to me... I simply told him that I'm only an HR Manager I'm not a general Manager.. and that's it he said this is the requirement for you,, so is it true that this is the immigration requirements!!!!!!! sorry to answer your question with another ,, its no good..

I really think you've hit the nail on the head. It's got the stage here where the needs of tiny minorities are catered for over the vast majority of culturally British people here.
A man was prosecuted for refusing to take down a sign for a car park he owned saying 'the porking yard' - in reference to the high number of pork butchers that used to locate on that street - because it may offend Muslims visiting a nearby Mosque.
Now, in my opinion, in instances like that it should be said that the majority of people in the area weren't Muslim, and the sign wasn't intended to be offensive to Muslims in any way, so what exactly was reprehensible about what he did? Really any Muslim who did find that offensive would be a ****, looking for trouble, and I doubt any Muslims were offended at all. Frankly I think adopting a more Aussie approach would be a much better idea.

They have it dead right
Everyone who moves to Australia becomes Australian
You should petition government to follow the lead and stop listening to a vocal minority in the media
UK will not be a country soon if you stand back and let it happen to you

OMG! How did those idiots escape from America?

Australia has EVERY RIGHT to control its borders and decide how immigrants are to be treated. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER NATION ON EARTH.

Liberals like that need to be dropped into the ocean with an anchor.
