Do you SERIOUSLY think that today's music is better than of any other era?

Well, expand your listening pleasure -- and you will find out that today's so-called 'music' is not even a shadow of the greatness of the Classical Masters -- and that is something to think about!

I think in someways the internet has greatly helped the indie bands, which has been the only thingI have been listening to for the past 10 years. Any band can put their music up for the world to see, although people have to go through the junk to find the good stuff.

There was a lot of one hit wonders during the classic period and even good bands had bad recordings. It's just that people blocked them from their memory or never heard of them.

Here are some good recent indie songs:
Firehead by Devics
Go Dead by Red Delicious
Sort of A Prayer by Red Delicious
Casualties by Red Delicious
I Will Love You by Fisher
Mary by Fisher
Living Inside Her by Kelly's Lot
In Love With a View by Mojave 3
Carnival of Rust by Poets of the Fall
The Instinct by Denali
Your Ghost by Forty Foot Wave
Go Go Go by Valeze
Not That Easy by Valeze
Firefly by Greta Gaines
Stained by Android Lust
Tonight by The Soviettes
The Scene's Out of Sight by Actionslacks
I Died in a Mall by Kissing Tigers
Not That Social by The Von Bondies

Music is better today?. hmmm... I wouldn't know. I stopped listening to new music in the 90's when it all started sounding the same to me. I only listen to classic stations now when I do have a radio on - otherwise I'm listening to a podcast of old-time radio plays.

You suffer from temporal provincialism. Just like 80 year olds think that music in the 1940's was best. If you expand your thinking and develop criteria for evaluating music, you may conclude that music today 5ucks, and hasn't been any good since 1973.

Name one guitarist today that can out play Satana,Edi Van Helen,Slash,Hendricks,AC/DC....Name anyone out today who can out sing - Steve Perry,Earth wind & fire,Temtations....70's & 80's bass lines are the best...The only thing that is outstanding about todays music (Alternative Rock not R&B Or Hip Hop) is the drum work.
