The US has thought of itself and the world's peacekeeper or policeman since the end of World War II. Nuclear proliferation is a problem whether or not the US keeps its arms. From the end of World War II until the beginning of the Bush administration, the US actively sought to limit the spread of nuclear arms through peaceful means. Bush's willingness to use the military before diplomacy is tried is an aberration.

Let me tell you guys something.
The USA has done good things and it has done bad things. Just like every state in the world. No country is perfect. Every country has done good and bad in tandem. Yes, they have done bad things. But whenever there is a natural catastrophe like the paki earthquake or the tsunami, which country gives aid??? Which country bothers about human rights and democracy?
It is only muslims that hate America. But whenever Muslims suffer, (like the Lebanese in July) the USA gives more money than even the Muslim countries do. Yet no matter how much good the USA does, it is always the bad guy.
Every country has to formulate its foreign policy around its own interests. The USA is no exception. The problem is, that because the USA is the lone superpower, its actions are greatly amplified. If the USA is guilty of have selfish foreign policy, all countries are guilty of the same crime.
I don't know why you Indians hate the USA. The USA has done so much for India. If you want to hate countries, hate countries like Paki Land (who sponsors terrorism), hate countries like the Arab states (who pretend to be India's friend but behind closed doors call us kafirs and infidels), hate countries like China which deceived us into believing it was our friend only so it could attack us.
