I went back to Peru before my US divorce was finalized (November), and married another person in August, thinking that the US marriage was finalized. Is my marriage to the second person in Peru valid? I am divorcing in Peru now anyway, would I have to go through the divorce process in Peru, or is the marriage just not valid?

Come on now you know the answer. Why would you even think of getting remarried so soon after what you thought was a divorce? Is your middle name Desperado??

legally NO.. If you continued to live in Peru, you could probably get by with it but even THERE.. if it was found out that you have a wife in the US or in France, etc, you would be cited for having two wives and fined/jail/etc

In the USA it is not valid, but in Peru you would need to check their laws... I would guess not because countries do try their best not to over step the laws of other countries and they would be over stepping American law.
