People who think Cutler is going to take the Broncos to the playoffs are dumb!!! he is a ROOKIE!!! i dont see why shanahan benched Plummer!? the Broncos have a good record and they keep winning, if they replace Plummer with Cutler (who is OVERRATED) I guarrantee they will NOT make the playoffs!! This is a dumb move for the Denver Broncos!!! Denver fans look forward to next year, yalls season is officially done!!!!

DOES ANYONE FEEL THE SAME!!!

Actually Cutler has a stronger arm than Plummer. Also its been reported that Cutler has looked far better than Plummer in practice as well.

Plummer was not getting the job done. They have been winning but with little help from the O. Shanahan has been more than patience with Plummers problems and I think the problems were really highlighted in the SD and KC games. Putting Cutler in is a gamble but with the offense ranked down near the bottom of the league in production it might be worth a shot. If nothing less, then Cutler gets some game time experience and gets ready to be the full time starter next year. Plummer is history in Denver without a doubt.

i totally agree. starting a pure rookie is something that rebuilding teams should do. indy took several years until peyton manning blossomed into a star.. carson palmer's first year was spent on the bench, then his second year (his first year as starter) was mediocre.

matt leinart is a rookie and he is doing ok, but not well enough to carry the team on his shoulders alone.

jake gives denver their best chance of winning games.. superbowl? no, but not all his fault. denver doesn't have that superstar running back anymore, therefore more expectations on whomever is QB.

cutler will be a star, but not right away.. i say run with jake til the end of the year.. at least jake will get them into the playoffs.

putting cutler in now is a sign that they don't care about winning for the rest of the season.

i wish cutler the best of luck, but i don't think he will win denver a superbowl this year.

I don't think necessarily that Cutler is over-rated but i agree with you 100% that Plummer should not have been benched. IMO Plummer is being used as the scape goat. People think oh we will plug the rookie in and all the problems will go away. I don't think so. It doesn't matter who the QB is you still have problems with having no real weapons.....Only 1 real wide-out in Javon Walker because they cover Rod Smith heavily and hes lost a step.....Plus they double team Javon Walker alot of times too......And when Plummer does throw to somebody else alot of times they can't hold on to the ball. ..Plus Plummer and the other players have been working together for almost four years...It will take the players time to get used to Cutler. Plus..They don't have a strong tight end. Their defense has been giving up too many points. My prediction is all the teams will be going after Cutler hard......HE will be addled and make big mistakes....WHich is totally understandable.......All rookies have to learn and i think its unfair to Cutler to put so much pressure on him.....I wouldn't be surprised if he had a couple of bad games and people were calling to bench him....Some fans are so fickle.... .Putting a rookie out there is like putting a huge red target on his crest that says hit me

i'm not a broncos fan but i totally agree with you that this is a stupid move granted jake plummer isn't playing well at all this season but they still have a shot at making it to the playoffs this is basically saying that they're giving up on the season this could cost mike shanahan his job and it should cost him his job

The Broncos have a valid threat at triumphing the branch and making a severe run on the large Bowl at this ingredient interior the season. this could be a terrible time to make a QB replace, quite to an unproven rookie, no count number how plenty skill he looks to have. Denver's possibilities of advancing interior the placed up season could be thoroughly flushed away in the event that they began utilising a rookie QB. Now if/whilst Denver sounds like they gained't make the playoffs, then i think of we are in a position to make a manageable argument for testing Cutler.

I agree that the season is over. While I am not a Jake Plummer fan (he's a jerk), he is the best quarterback for the job. Since they benched him, I hope they get beat in every single game left in the season.

Remember Roethlesburger. A team doesn't need a great QB to win the Superbowl, right now Denver needs a QB that will not lose them the game (which Plummer is very good at). Cutler is decent, and, he is their next QB. If he doesn't win this year, he will be much better starting next year than he would have been starting next year.

I think Shanahan realizes a sense of urgency with his football team and he is looking for a spark to get them started. Cutler had a good career at Vanderbilt which is tough to do in the SEC. He is smart. He is bigger, faster and more mobile than Jake. Hey, it worked for the Tuna. Perhaps, Jay can do it for the Broncos. I'm sure Shanahan is looking to the future as well.

I can't understand why Shanahan benched Plummer either; he sounds like a good QB. Not Peyton-material by any means, but he's still good.
