I can not tell if my friend is a homosexual or not?

I cant tell if he is gay or not..... I do not want to hurt him by asking though.... is there anyway of me knowing without asking?

Would it make any difference if he were or weren't unless u want to start sharing ur clothes with him or borrowing his. That is his private business and if he is and wants u to know he will tell u when the time is right u have no business prying into his private affairs. What's the underlying problem here, I mean come on really let us know? R u jealous that he may be getting more attention than u? Come out with it what is really up with u? Do u like him more than just a friend and r worried that he is gay and will deny u any pleasures u r seeking from him? If none of this is true then mind ur business and continue to be his friend until he decides to come out to u which he will do eventually and when he does if u still LOVE him u will reply to him AND.....? U'll be even better friends, promise.

Why do you need to know?
a) You're scared his friendship may actually be a "hitting on you"?
b) You don't wanna be friends with gay people
c) You have a mighty big crush on him and he's not ticking on your gaydar
d) You're a suicide bomber and you want to hug gay people and blow them to bits

Okay, letter (d) is a bit off, it's just time I'm running out of options and multiple choices usually have 4 options, lol. (No offense I hope)

So if your answer is:
A) My gosh... You stay away or confront him... You can only stand the awkwardness too long. But remember than this is just on your mind, and you're on the embarassing end if he says, "you wish!"
B) Totally understandable, but you are limiting your options on friends to the happiest people around! Remember that gay was perdominantly used to mean happy before it meant homos.
C) You really have to take this slow and watch what happens, just be nice to him. Nice and easy, and you'll know if he reciprocates the feeling. He may not be gay but a gay basher afterall

Tell him that you are wondering something personal about him and that you would like to ask, if says okay then simply ask him. Friends should be able to talk about anything. Be kind and thoughful in how you phrase the question and be ready for whatever answer he gives you.

just ask! i've had countless people--some not even my friends (but with no intention to ridicule me)--about my sexual orientation. i just say "yeah, i'm bi." and they say "okay, that's cool" and then we go our merry ways. if he's a friend & you're a friend, it will make both of you happy knowing the truth. if he's really straight, dont worry. if you think he's gay, chances are he's obviously acting it to some degree, so dont hold yourself accountable if he's not & you feel a little embarrassed. good luck! =D
