Have you checked your coolant bottle under the bonnet. It must be kept topped up with coolant between the minimum and maximum level. If you are worried ask at a garage, but remember your engine, even when just started, is burning petrol, diesel or even chip fat these days at extremely high temperatures, so it won`t take long for the engine it to heat up.

It may just be that the thermo-switch that kicks the fan in has become a bit enthusiastic. Probably not a problem if the gauges are reading okay, you're not losing coolant and the oil looks okay on the dipstick. Have your journeys become more stop-start etc? Trickling in slow traffic can warm things up surprisingly quickly.

It might be running a little lean causing it to heat up excessively, try using a higher grade of gasoline.

If all your gauge readings are normal, don't worry about it. It's thermostatically controlled and comes on whenever it's needed.
There is no problem.
