Germans celebrate a unique and parallel holiday to the traditional Christmas holiday. "Versehentliche Ziege-Belgien Fahrrad-Gefahr-Fische" takes place on December 25th as well, but it is completely unlike the holiday that you and I are familiar with.

Family members wake up promptly at 5:15 on VZBFGF-morning and run into the living room, where they immediately proceed to beat the living daylights out of each other. The first person to draw blood gets to serve the rest of the family the traditional breakfast of "Gefängnis-Welpe", or "beef jerky on dry toast with no water or juice". When everyone is finished, the entire family strips naked and marches counter-clockwise around their house or apartment 24 times (or until someone collapses of hypothermia, whichever comes first), in what is called the "Mandel-Geländer".

How this ancient holiday has remained popular enough to be practiced to this day is a mystery.
