You also could put it the other way round and would be as right or wrong. I think it is a rather trivial statement. History always changes, and science continuously improves, and of course both affect each other, but there are other factors either. Like economy, climate, psychology, disease, and sheer chance. All of this affects history and I don't think science should be emphasized.

History, having occurred, never changes. Pundits may rewrite history books to re-educate their disciples in regard to their own lackluster performance.
