I didn't have my period in May. I had it in June, and then didn't have it again until August. And now, I haven't had my period since then. I don't have insurance to get to the doctor right now. What is wrong with me and what can I do?

I took 3 pregnacy tests and they were all negative.

I wrote this before, but no one seemed to have seen it. I took THREE pregnacy tests and they were all negative. And I also haven't had unprotected sex.

Oh, and also(sorry to keep forgetting things). I'm 22 years old, I have no pains down there, and I have no symptoms of being pregnant(I haven't had sex in about 4 months). I have had a lot of stress, and that is the only thing I can think of that is wrong. Thanks!

First of all, quit panicking. The stress you mentioned you're under is the likely cause. My "monthly" has never been regular--except when I was on the pill.

Why? Some women, especially those who are very skinny or quite overweight tend to have more irregular cycles. You add stress to the mix, and your hormones can get all out of whack.

Two things you need to do. First, begin an exercise program. This will help reduce stress, even if you don't fall into the overweight category. Next, find a planned parenthood or other women's health clinic. Often they don't require insurance and will work with you on payments, and usually have a sliding fee depending on income. You can talk with someone about what you should do. I'm not a doctor, but I recommend the Pill. It helps to regulate your cycle, and as I mentioned before, the only in my life I've ever been regular was when I was on the Pill.

Good luck.

Hey, that happened to me when I was in grade 12. No period for 6 months, and I was a virgin. Doctor put me on the pill to get my period back. I think it was because I lost some weight, was stressed, depressed, not eating much, exercising. Was on the verge of anerexia probably, able to lose weight without really trying, feeling sick when I would eat. Probably weighed about 125lbs in the winter, then was 105 lbs in the spring time. Was sort've trying to lose weight for prom, but not really... was a bit of a mess back then, and no one knew it but me.

You should go for a checkup to make sure nothing is wrong though. My doc just asked me if I had sex (after saying no, he asked me a couple more times, just to make sure I wasn't preg.), he didn't run any tests or anything. Just put me on the pill and said that should work. My horomones must've been messed up.

Good luck.

there are many factors that can play a partin you not having your period. one thing is that all women are not the same not everyones cycles are excataly 28 days. some can be less, some can be more. if you are stressed it can make you not have you period. if you have been taking diffrent kinds of birth controls that can take effect on it.if your weight has fluctuated that can effect it. if you gain or loss more than normal it defiently will effect it. and the last thing is that you could be pregnant and not know it. pregnancy test aren't always effective. i would suggest talking to a doctor about it. there are med centers or even a county health office that could help you out and they don't charge as much as a doctor. some times you don't have to pay to see a county health nurse.

Stress can definitely make you skip periods! It happened to me. Just try to relax and you should be fine. If you took three tests, you are probably not pregnant. If you see any pregnancy symptoms, then be concerned and think of seeing a doctor (worst case, since you don't have insurance).

Well, since you dont have insurance i wold probably wait for a little while longer, because this can happen to everyone its not abnormal at all. But if it stretches out to another month or so I would try to go to a health clinic or something, because if something is wrong you need to take care of it and pronto. Sure the cost might be a burden, but you really need to make sure you're healthy, and if nothing is wrong GREAT but at least you know for sure. and if something is wrong then you can fix it! Good luck!

depending on your age, you might be going through menapause. Or you could be having some sort of ovary problems from ovarian cancer to just something to ovarian cysts. IF you ever have pains urinating or pain down there around your period time this might be a sign of ovarian cysts. Find a local MD to run some tests , or apply for charity care at your local hospital so that way you will be covered for 1 year of visits through your local hospital. Its free and all you need is to make around under 18k yearly.
my best to you and feel better during these holidays.

If you are really athletic or stressed both of these can cause a temporary stop in bleeding i would try to relax and take a nice warm bath not worry bout it for a week or so
or you can go to the health department and get a test done there for free

Are you stressed out?? Lose of weight? You could call Ask-A-Nurse. The phone call is free and you don't need insurance. I don't know if there is a 1-800 number, but I just searched Yahoo for ask a nurse and I found a local number.

An office visit to the doctor won't be more than 100 bucks without insurance. Isn't peace of mind worth that?
