because the FIFA World Player is an award for national team coaches (including American Samoa, Montserrat, Belize) vote and their captains. Therefore these people consider very much what happened in the World Cup and that's why Zidane is in top three.

Actually I think that it is because he is a pretty damn good soccer player who deserves it! the guy is a legend, and yea it might be favoritism but when does that not come into play?
